In order to determine the whether or not the creature known as Bigfoot is real, the Bluff Creek Project has installed numerous trail cameras in the the area surrounding the Bluff Creek watershed, in Humboldt and Del Norte county, California. The area has rich a history of claimed Bigfoot encounters and continually generates reported sightings. The area is comprised of many square miles of primeval forest that is habitat and refugia to many elusive animals such as Black Bears, Mountain Lions, Roosevelt Elk, Blacktail Deer, Marten, Mink, Grey Foxes, Ringtail Cats, and purportedly Bigfoot.  The primary goal of the trail camera survey is to determine if Bigfoot is real. The secondary goal of the survey is to obtain high quality spatial/temporal data concerning the movements of animals in the study area. The third goal is to obtain High Definition video and images of the animals that inhabit the area.
